Open Beta

MW4 beta date: timing is still unannounced

Activision confirms the Open Beta, early access for eligible pre-orders and a two-day minimum. The official July 10 FAQ still gives no start time, so this page focuses on the access steps you can complete now.

Confirmed

Open Beta exists

Activision confirms an MW4 open beta and pre-order early access.

Confirmed

Minimum 2 days

Official disclaimers state a minimum Open Beta duration of two days.

Pending

Start date and preload

Activision says specific timing and preload information will arrive closer to the beta.

Set up early access before dates arrive

  1. 01Digital order on an eligible platform. Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Battle.net and Steam purchases are automatically validated for early access; they do not need a code redemption.
  2. 02Retail order: keep the receipt or email. Participating retailers provide a 13-character early-access code. Sign in to an Activision account and register it at callofduty.com/betaredeem.
  3. 03Check the account email. Tokens are sent nearer the beta start and regional or retailer availability can differ. Do not assume a date or a preload window from an old post.

The official terms guarantee a minimum two-day Open Beta, but not a start date on this page. For edition contents, campaign access and the purchase decision, see the editions and pre-order guide.

What we are waiting on

The big missing piece is still the exact start date. The official FAQ says timing will be announced closer to the beta. When that happens, this page and the home tracker should update from the Activision notice, not a leaked calendar.

Preload timing, content, map and mode details, platform order, and Switch 2 beta availability also remain unannounced. Territory and retailer availability can vary, so use the official FAQ attached to your own purchase path.
